What motivates you?

Hello Riders!

With the Tour de France well and truly underway at the moment, it is now more than ever that we see people taking to two wheels – and what better motivation that to watch some of the world’s greatest athletes compete in what is arguably one of the most strenuous sporting events! But what is it that motivates you to get on a bike and head for the roads?

For many people, getting on a bike is a great form of exercise and even shorts bursts of road cycling can work wonders for your physical fitness. For others, it can be part of a social outing whereby groups of riders will meet to brave the route together – cycling has even be dubbed the new ‘business’ arena, fast taking over golf as the social of choice, with many potential deals now being discussed on the road.

Another motivating factor that may often get overlooked and not spoken about openly, is the fact that cycling is also a great aid to your mental health. What better place to catch up on some much needed ‘me time’, than to head out for some peace and quiet with nothing but your bike for company. Although this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, I’ve heard numerous people comment lately on how getting out on a ride for some thinking time has played a crucial role in their motivations for cycling.

For me personally, I’ve found that each of these factors have played a part in my own motivations – I’ve found the exercise has really helped lift my mood post-ride, I’ve felt good after being with good company, as well as the self-confidence that has been gained from riding solo. Whatever your preference, there is no better time than the present to get on a bike. With so many support networks for new riders, rides for the more experienced and even guidance on-line, there is something for everyone to ensure that they get the most from their time on the roads.

Not only does Arrivée provide the perfect cycling kit for all levels of riders, we also like to think of our customers as part of our riding family and in turn hope that you can turn to us for support and guidance throughout your journey. What is it that makes you want to get on your bike? Get in touch and let us know, we’d love to hear about the motivations behind your rides!

Until next time,

Lu x
